My Review
Oh my goodness! Did I not just read the (W)right book?!?! I mean, this was the third book I have read in 2017... I know I am a little behind, but bay-bay, this thang was good!. The Wright Brother, by K.A. Linde introduced me to Emery Robinson who was... that chick. She was who she was unapologetically. She was strong. smart. witty, vulnerable, and all of the above, who was back home in Lubbock, TX trying to pick up the pieces of her life and begin again. Emery is talked into attending a wedding by her eclectic bestie Heidi. Now this was not just any ole wedding, it was the wedding of her ex-boyfriend's sister, who happens to be Landon Wright, who also happened to completely flip her world upside down, by dumping her like a bad habit after dating for two years in high school. Since then, Emery made up in her mind that she does not and will not laugh at the same jokes of any Wright as long as she lives. Home-girl is doing good until her kryptonite, walked up the aisle in the form of Jensen Wright, Landon's, sexy older brother.
Landon is that dude. The head of the family, running the family business, and pimpin' all over the world. He sees Emery, she sees him and you already know what it is... but not really. The both of them have an ideas about what the next move is going to be, but neither of them are prepared for the consequences of their actions. Good, bad, and indifferent, these two take each other on an emotional roller coaster that leaves you wanting more.
Side note, but not really...one of my best friends' is from Texas. He lived in Lubbock and attended Texas Tech. He is originally from Amarillo. I say all this because K.A. Linde wrote this novel with so much conviction and precision, that my friend could recall all of the places named throughout the novel. He could not believe that I had visited his college town and not actually visited there. As such, I cannot give this book anything less than 5-stars, because of its authenticity of setting the scene and the characterization of not only Jensen and Emery, but Morgan, Heidi, Julia, Austin, Kimber, Noah, Lillyanne, Landon, Sutton, and anyone else mentioned in this awesome read. The only thing left for me to say is, you better Run & Read The Wright Brother, by K.A. Linde and brace yourself for the Wright Boss on May 16th.
About the Author
K.A. Linde is the USA Today bestselling author of more than fifteen novels including the Avoiding series and the Record series. She has a Masters degree in political science from the University of Georgia, was the head campaign worker for the 2012 presidential campaign at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and served as the head coach of the Duke University dance team. She loves reading fantasy novels, geeking out over Star Wars, binge-watching Supernatural, and dancing in her spare time.
