Review Tour: Blood Type by K.A. Linde

BLOOD TYPE
By K.A. Linde
Release Day – April 24, 2018

A startling new vision of paranormal romance: When a human ventures into the world of vampires—a decadent milieu of blood-bonds and betrayal—she discovers that not all is what it seems.

Synopsis

For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn’t a choice. It’s survival. In a civilization laid waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He’s everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing—he won’t feed off her. Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham’s brooding, wicked façade lies a unique and complex man. And that, in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed. For with each passing night, Reyna can’t shake the sensation that it’s Beckham who’s afraid of her.

My Review

Finally, I can share with the people my review of Blood Type by  K.A. Linde. I am definitely a fan of hers and was captivated by the Wright series and am anxiously awaiting whatever is to come afterwards, but Blood Type, was definitely different. It was different because it was a paranormal romance that was dark and dank in some parts and bright and sunny in others. K.A. Linde introduced me to an area where vampires were running the government by providing a small sliver of hope for humans after an economic meltdown.

The setting was during a time where the haves had and the have nots were nearly destitute and equally desperate for anything or just something and this is where we find Reyna Carpenter. She is truly at the end of her rope and desperately applies for a position with Visage who specializes in body employment services. Once hired, she would go on to live with a vampire and allow him to feed off of her and in exchange she will be well compensated and well taken care of for the duration of her employment.

For these elite vampires and Visage, beyond the sky is the limit. They have wealth and luxuries beyond measure and Reyna did not have a clue as to what she was getting into when her blood type matched her with the dark and mysterious Beckham Anderson.  Within seconds of signing, Reyna's life changes and she has no idea what is in store for her or the fate of her family as she whisked away to what reads for her like a whole new world.

In her new life, there is lust, love, luxuries, and a crap ton of the unexpected that awaits her, except what she expects, which the touch of Beckham. You see, Beckham is an odd one. Like really odd and so cold at times that you can feel the chill of his presence. He was a mystery inside of a mystery, but there was clearly something brewing between him and Reyna that was undeniable in the midst of his oddities. One minute he's hot and the next he is a block of ice. One day he clings close, while another day avoidance is his weapon of choice. It was a bit much and at one point I thought he was just crazy.

I digress. I enjoyed Blood Type and am going to give it 5-stars, even though it was a tad slow in the beginning and it took me a little while to connect with the characters. I mean like in one part Reyna was talking about how long it had been since her last shower...that ain't cute. All in all, I will recommend that you run and read Blood Type by K.A. Linde, because this author is definitely a storyteller. Also, this is especially a good read if you have a thing for vampires...particularly if you are a fan of the television series True Blood.

OAN this is one part of a series, so expect a cliffhanger.
